5(ish) Ingredient Healthy Banana Brownies

Fudgy healthy banana brownies made with chocolate protein powder and peanut butter, with dark chocolate chips mixed in

My clients ask me for easy, healthy recipes to satisfy a sweet tooth all the time, and this one is a go-to recommendation. It’s made with just a few simple ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen, and it can easily be modified to be vegan or dairy-free. It also happens to be naturally gluten-free for those who need it.

If you’re looking for the perfect way to use up an overripe banana, look no further!

Ingredients:

Optional but highly recommended:

  • Handful of dark chocolate chips

  • Pinch of salt

  • Splash of vanilla extract

  • Pinch of freeze-dried coffee or espresso powder (decaf works too — this enhances the chocolate flavor)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a medium-sized bowl, mash the banana until smooth.

  3. Add all remaining ingredients and mix until fully combined.

  4. Pour mixture into a small lined baking dish or ramekin.

  5. Bake for ~12–18 minutes, or until just set in the center.

  6. Let cool slightly, then enjoy! Store in the refrigerator.
